Details of Digital Transformation Stage at Rewired 2022 revealed

Details of the Digital Transformation Stage, a key part of the conference programme at Digital Health Rewired 2022, have been confirmed.

The stage is focused on displaying the best examples of how digital is enabling health service transformation at scale in the NHS and internationally. Attendees will learn lessons from NHS CEOs and other systems leaders who will share their experiences of implementing successful digital transformation programmes.

Taking place on March 15-16 at the Business Design Centre in London, Digital Health Rewired 2022 is a conference and exhibition bringing together all parts of the digital health community to celebrate the best of digital, data and innovation in health and care.

Health and care professionals will be able to network, collaborate and learn in person during two days of educational conference sessions, exhibitions and meetings, all focused on sharing best practice and innovation.

The key note speakers set to grace the Digital Transformation Stage on day one of Rewired are Professor David Rosser, chief executive of University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, who will speak about Birmingham’s future digital health and care strategy, and Sonia Patel, CIO of NHSX, whose talk will be on what good looks like in terms of digital maturity assessments and key findings from the first NHS EPR usability survey.

On day two of the festival, Professor Jonathan Benger, chief medical officer at NHS Digital, will give a speech, as well as Dr Tom Whicher, CEO of DrDoctor, who will discuss working with the NHS to digitally engage patients.

There will be some great sessions on offer at the stage too, focusing on digital transformation in practice, of mental health and of nursing. Further speakers will be announced in due course.

Confirmed as stage sponsor is InterSystems, a company that provides advanced data platforms, integration technology and solutions that are interoperable, reliable and scalable in the world of digital health.

David Hancock, healthcare executive advisor at InterSystems, said: “Front line digitisation of Health and Social Care is still a fundamental issue faced by provider organisations, but is compounded by the system recognising that individual organisations working on their own cannot solve the issues in health and care today, including dealing with the fallout of the pandemic.

“Individual leaders have to think bigger than themselves and their own organisations if they are to solve the system problems, and frontline digitisation must consider digital transformation both within organisations but at the same time across systems, if they are to meet today’s challenges.

“The pandemic has accelerated the need for digital transformation to place the patient at the centre of care, either delivering care at home or in different care settings irrespective of the Provider and by truly integrating the patient into the care delivery team and this too will only expand.

“Whilst Health and Care have learned much in the last 20 years, we are pioneering into new territory and this Digital Transformation summit is a great place to learn, reflect, make new connections and hopefully take inspiration.”

Alongside InterSystems, mobile technology provider Nervecentre has been confirmed as a session sponsor of the Digital Transformation stage. The company has grown rapidly within the digital health sphere, boasting relationships with over 40 healthcare trusts, and is implemented in over 100 hospitals.

Paul Volkaerts, CEO and founder of Nervecentre, said: “Nervecentre is delighted to be a digital transformation session sponsor at Rewired.

“The pandemic created new pressures and a level of digital service deployment that we’ve never seen before. It also reminds us that the future is unpredictable. Having the agility to adapt with pace is vital, and healthcare digitisation has the power to unlock rapid service transformation. Modern technologies such as software-as-a-service and cloud computing allow the NHS to respond quickly to change – a crucial aspect of successful transformation.

“Rewired offers a unique opportunity to connect with the UK’s healthcare transformation leaders and learn about their digitisation challenges and journeys. It provides a platform for Nervecentre, as part of the UK’s vibrant and innovative digital health community, to showcase how innovation and modern technology can accelerate transformation and support trusts as they strive to improve care, capacity and flow. We’re really looking forward to the conference in March.”

Bookending the festival week will be the Rewired virtual fringe, a series of virtual events on 14,17 and 18 March showcasing work by partners, product innovation and international sessions.
